Pros: Food is great! Would definitely recommend the focaccina con caprino as an app. Entrees were also good. Service was fast, and there was free bread to start. The interior is very rustic and cozy. Cons: Service being fast is good, but at times it almost felt like we were being rushed due to servers coming in and trying picking up our dishes before we were even finished with the food. Tables are also squished very close together and they are constantly moving around tables and chairs to accommodate more parties. It is also very loud with lots of large groups so be mindful of that if looking for a quiet meal. However all of this can be expected for a busy north end restaurant.

Service: Top notch and attentive, no complaints there. I went right near 5 pm, so dodged the dinner rush that came in as I got my food. Ambiance: cozy place, medium amount of seating. I got my own two person high table so plenty of room. I get why restaurants do low lighting but ki d of wish they didn't lol felt basement like, but kind of goes with the brick oven vibe. Food: Veal Parm was great, came out hot with sides still bubbling. Spaghetti was nice and soft, but not overcooked, definitely tasted fresh. Definitely on the top list of North End places.

Delicious food! We got a variety of dishes and everything was good! It gets pretty packed in the restaurant but still had a nice ambiance.

Dined on 6/26/24. Restaurant was busy, but not packed. Antico Forno is a classic Italian restaurant in the heart of Boston's North End. The food was very good, but a touch pricey ($8 cannoli). Everything that came out of their brick oven was excellent. The ambiance was fine. I felt like I was in Italy, but maybe in 2004, not 2024. Service was efficient. Food came out quickly, our water was never empty, and bread service was a nice extra. That being said, I don't think anyone smiled at me once. Our waitress did a fine job, but she was one of the most unfriendly waitresses I've ever had. Had a drink before dinner, and the bartender seemed almost bothered by me. After dinner, we walked around the North End. There were a ton of restaurants that were vibrant, not to mention modern. If you want an authentic Italian meal in a classic environment, then Antico Forno is a good choice. If you are looking for something a little more vibrant or modern, maybe look elsewhere.

This friendly, clean and classic little Italian restaurant hit the spot during a visit to Boston. So much that we actually ate here 3 out of 5 nights! Night one my teen and I ate in the restaurant. To be honest the service was a tad casual or slow, perhaps because we arrived in the last hour they were open. We sat there for nearly ten minutes without a hello or water from the server. Despite there being no other parties waiting for service. But the rest of the evening made up for the lackluster start. We had an antipasto plate that featured several delicious cold cuts, cheeses and olives. We also had the pasta bolognese and it was very tasty. Two other nights we ordered pizzas to pickup. The mushroom pizza and the prosciutto one were both delicious with a thin crispy crust. Be aware if you order take out on an app you will not get an update when it's ready! (I used two different apps). The pizza will be ready within a few minutes so just head over asap. Hostess staff were friendly and also very helpful when my teen left her headphones there the first night. Definitely give them a try if you're in the North End!

Great spot for a vegan eater in the North End! There are always tasty side dishes and next time I'll try the pizza with the vegan cheese. The sister restaurant down the street, Terramia, is a smaller spot, but they seem to have more vegan options. Service can be iffy at times when they are really busy.

SOME OF THE BEST FOOD I HAVE EVER HAD! They give you a sourdough bread roll to start with olive oil. Wish they would put the italian spice mix in the olive oil. We got a cheese pizza (not on menu but they will make it) and spaghetti carbonara but subbed fettuccine for the carbonara. The pizza was one of the best I've ever had, the crust was delicious and the sauce was sweet. The pasta was TO DIE FOR. The fettuccine noodles tasted so fresh and had a bite to it, it was cooked perfectly, and the sauce was sooo good. I love that they don't charge extra for fresh pasta and just give it to you rather than charging extra for it. The only problem was it was so crowded and the seats were very close together to the point where we felt smashed inside. Definitely go during off hours.

Good "old school " Italian restaurant in the North End. Beers on tap, a great pizza menus and TVs to watch sports for those so inclined.

I was here with a party of 4 on a Monday. It was our first time here so we made a reservation even though we were all meeting at the restaurant at 5:00PM; usually before the dinner rush starts. It was relatively busy so I'm glad we made the reservation. The ambiance was nice. We went after a day of sightseeing so we were in the-shirts and jeans and we felt comfortable, but you could easily go after a day in the office or a dressy occasion and be comfortable also. The service was attentive but not rushed, perfect for having a great meal with people you actually want to spend time with and have actual conversations with. I had the Linguine Con Vongole: Linguine pasta, garlic white wine sauce, sautéed clams, fresh cherry tomatoes, baked in parchment paper, finished in brick oven. It arrived still wrapped in the parchment paper and foil, and it smelled wonderful. It tasted as good as it smelled, and it definitely hit the spot. It was a proper portion too, which I always appreciate. Great food doesn't need to be served in portions large enough to feed a small army. I also had a glass of Chianti, Poggio Bonelli, Villa Chigi, 2021 (Tuscany). It was exactly what I like in a wine. Not too far in any direction, deliciously drinkable with and without food. I finished my meal with the Flourless Chocolate Cake: Gluten-free, served with whipped cream and strawberries. It was perfect! Again, a proper portion. It was delicious and chocolaty, but not too rich or dense. I will definitely be back, and I'm sad that I live in PA so I can't go back right away. I hope I remember to take photos next time.
